Los Angeles, CA, June 26, 2003 - Metin Bereketli, Hollywood’s charitable international artist renown for his DIVERSITY-series of striking compositions and one-of-a-kind “Birds of Peace” neckties, has opened another solo art exhibit at the 10th Annual JACK WEBB Awards Night held at Century Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, California, June 21, 2003.
The proceeds from the sale of Metin’s paintings and neckties directly benefited the Los Angeles Police Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
California Governor Gray Davis, in a message he sent, said “the Los Angeles Police Historical Society has provided a valuable service to its community” and recognized the honorees Dick Wolf and Paula Kent Meehan “for their commitment to supporting law enforcement.”
Special guest participants of this important event included Fred Travalena, LAPD Chief of Police William J. Bratton, Executive Producer of the night and LAPD Assistant Chief (Ret.) David J. Gascon, LAPD Officer Rosalind Iiams, Del Haynes, Robert G. Lee, Bert Boeckmann, Ed O’Neill, Ruta Lee, Debbie Reynolds, Daniel Rodriguez, and Jessica Rivera.
An internationally acclaimed Los Angeles based painter, Metin's contemporary works have been featured in galleries and exhibitions worldwide including the Smithsonian, Sotheby's Science Center, Paramount Pictures & Universal Studios and Hollywood & Highland.
Metin’s style and generosity has earned him the esteem of many American leaders, such as Presidents Bush and Carter. His work can also be seen on many television programs including Friends, Frazier, ER, Becker, Felicity, Will & Grace, Chicago Hope, The Bold and The Beautiful, Passions, General Hospital, Party of Five, Drew Carrey Show and several other TV and film sets.
